Hepatitis at a glance:
According to the CDC: “’Hepatitis’ means inflammation of the liver. Toxins, certain drugs, some diseases, heavy alcohol use, and bacterial and viral infections can all cause hepatitis. Hepatitis is also the name of a family of viral infections that affect the liver; the most common types are Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C.” [1]
Vaccinations are available for Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B. No vaccination has yet been developed for Hepatitis C.
Why should I be concerned?
- The hepatitis vaccine and its additives and adjuvants have been linked to negative effects including autism, developmental delays, shaken baby syndrome (SBS), anaphylaxis, and death.
- The hepatitis vaccine may not be effective at preventing the types of hepatitis for which it is indicated.
